This yard had nothing going for it - just uneven, bare dirt with low spots that collected water and made the space pretty much unusable. Before a single roll of sod could go down, the ground itself needed a lot of attention. That's where most people skip steps, and it's exactly where we don't.

We brought in soil, worked it across the entire area, and used grade stakes to make sure everything was sitting at the right level. Getting the grade right matters more than most people realize. A lawn that isn't properly leveled will always have drainage issues, soft spots, and uneven growth - no matter how good the sod is. We used a lawn roller to compact the soil evenly across the surface before anything else went down.

Once the base was dialed in and smooth, the sod went in. Fresh sod laid over a properly prepared surface takes root faster, drains better, and holds up longer. It's not complicated, but it does require doing things in the right order and not cutting corners on the prep work.

The finished yard is flat, clean, and ready to actually be used. A deck with stairs leading into the yard, room to move around, no tripping hazards, no puddles - just a solid, manageable lawn. That's really what good landscape installation comes down to: giving people an outdoor space they can actually enjoy without the headaches.

We take a lot of pride in this kind of work. It's not glamorous - hauling soil, rolling grade, getting your hands dirty - but the end result speaks for itself. If your backyard is in a similar spot, this is exactly the kind of job we're built for.
